Course Description:

Teaches critical thinking and expository writing skills necessary to prepare philosophy majors and other interested undergraduates for Philosophy 311.

Prerequisites:

Open to all majors.

  1. Informal logic and rhetoric.
  2. Writing skills and processes.
  3. Review of grammar.
  4. Library research skills.
  5. Introduction to philosophy.

Major Assignments

  1. Logic exam.
  2. Grammar exam.
  3. Daily written exercises.
  4. Short, argumentative papers.
  5. Library research paper.
