I’m Interested in Teaching Writing 150

Want to teach Writing 150? University Writing wants strong writers and dynamic teachers to teach critical thinking and writing to the 3500 freshmen who take first-year writing each year. Though generally we hire many of our instructors from the English MA program, we’re interested in graduate students from an program on campus.

If you’re interested in joining the UW team, please email Jennifer Lindsey at Jennifer_lindsey@byu.edu by March 1 or pick up an application in the UW office in 4110 JFSB. We review applications in mid-March and interview candidates some time before the end of Winter semester. We hire around 25 new graduate instructors each year. IMPORTANT: If you are interested in applying for the program and have worked for the LDS Church or any affiliated company in the last 6 months, please contact Heather Hammond at 801-422-3054 or heather_hammond@byu.edu.

If you have a MA in a related field already, you can apply to teach as an adjunct. Check yjobs in June to teach in the Fall.

Come teach the most important class on campus!
