Two week-long seminars are held each year (one in May, one in June) to help faculty in all disciplines use writing successfully in any course they teach. The seminars focus on methods of teaching writing that can be integrated with the content of courses in any discipline, particularly undergraduate courses. The instructors emphasize using writing to help students learn; designing effective writing assignments; teaching students to plan, draft, organize, revise, and edit their writing; and evaluating student writing.
Each year, department chairs are invited in January to nominate faculty to attend these seminars. Approximately 20 faculty are selected for each seminar, and invitations are mailed in February. To register your interest in attending the next seminars to be taught, phone 422-5329.
